5 resources for beginning grief workers

1. Community. Find other grief workers at our Bereavement Doula Community. We gather there, at Mighty Networks, for strategies, skills, and the space to be comforted.

2. Therapy. The reality that you can be negatively affected by observing a traumatic experience is called vicarious trauma. Vicarious birth trauma is real, and Krista Dancy is one therapist who has many resources for birth workers who experience this kind of trauma.

3. Resources. Education about grief is often sorely lacking in our society. To learn more, check out these resources from the Center for Loss and Life Transition.

4. Journaling. Writing is a beautiful tool you can use to process grief. For some information and ideas to start you off, check out this book.

5. Further Education. To learn more through trainings and workshops, visit Abby the Sociologist Doula or the Institute for the Study of Birth, Breath, and Death.
